News sources say that a teenage driver has been arrested for causing a DUI accident that led to the death of a young boy. The victim's mother was also taken into custody for failing to properly restrain her child. Last week the first driver, 19-year-old P.R., attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him but struck a vehicle coming head-on in the opposite direction. He has since been charged with
extreme DUI, aggravated assault and
manslaughter. The mother, E.B., 21, also faces criminal charges for not using any of the three child seats available in her vehicle for her 5-year-old son. He was reportedly sitting in the front seat of her car and struck the dashboard upon impact.
The young boy, along with his mother and P.R., were taken to a local hospital shortly after the DUI accident took place. Unfortunately, the victim lost his life after arriving at the emergency room.
