Police Find DUI Suspect in Possession of Heroin

Police in Phoenix, Arizona detained a driver last week on suspicion of not only DUI but heroin possession as well. When police ran the man's driver's license, they soon learned that he was wanted on several other charges. According to the Phoenix Police Department, 37-year-old C.H. was being targeted in an undercover operation. When the officers caught him at a traffic stop, it was apparent that he was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. A search of his vehicle by police canines revealed that he was transporting four pounds of black tar heroin. The narcotics are believed to have been smuggled across the border from Mexico and would have been worth thousands of dollars on the street if sold.
In addition to the drug charges, C.H. was also wanted on several outstanding warrants. Police learned that he was wanted on one misdemeanor warrant and two felony warrants, all outstanding, by different agencies in the state of Arizona.
