Drunk Driver Causes Rollover Accident
After prompting the rollover crash that took the life of another driver, Andreah M. Patterson was arrested on multiple charges.
According to Mesa police spokesman Ed Wessing, Patterson had been driving east on McLellan Road when she ran a red light and hit a Ford Explorer in the intersection. Since Patterson was likely to have been speeding, the impact sent the Explorer into a roll-over that is ultimately responsible for the death of 31-year-old Anissa Wirth. Luckily the passenger in that vehicle sustained just minor injuries.
Although Patterson was not injured in the accident, officers quickly realized that she was intoxicated.
She is now being held on charges of endangerment and vehicular manslaughter.
