Driver Using Marijuana Leads Police on 90 Minute Chase
A 90-minute chase through the Valley led to the arrest of a man who claims to use marijuana daily.
The suspect, who has now been identified as 30-year-old Bo Wyatt, was booked on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana, dumping items on the roadway, aggravated assault, unlawful flight and DUI of drugs. According to police reports, the chase took officers through Interstate 10 and often reached speeds exceeding 100 mph.
What began as a simply traffic stop turned into something much more when a public safety officer attempted to stop Wyatt. The officers were finally successful at nabbing him by using a tire spike that slowly leaked the air from all four tires; although he attempted to drive on the rims alone, Wyatt finally admitted defeat nearly 90 minutes later.
