Felony DUI Charges Filed Against Officer
In the city of Phoenix, it has been reported that charges were filed against a local police sergeant for driving under the influence (DUI). Sadly, the officer is accused of drunk driving while his children were inside of his vehicle. His arrest took place in Surprise back in March, but felony charges were formally filed this week.
Law enforcement said that the officer was subjected to a DUI stop during morning hours near a local high school. He consented to a breath alcohol test and his results were twice the state's legal limit of 0.08%. After investigating the incident, it was decide that felony DUI charges would be filed by the county prosecutor.
If the officer is convicted, he will face up to 30 days in jail and driver's license suspension.
