CoCo Crisp Charged with DUI
Coco Crisp, the Oakland Athletics outfield, is the third major league player to be charged with DUI during this year's spring training.
A statement released by the A's revealed that Crisp was taken into custody early Wednesday morning in Scottsdale. However he was released shortly after and arrived just in time to take part in pre-game drills before the exhibition against the Cleveland Indians this week. The outfielder was in the clubhouse before the game but was not giving any statements to the press at that time. The A's have also declined further comments, only saying that they are taking Crisps' situation "seriously" and will wait until "further details are available."
Crisp joins Miguel Cabrera of Detroit, who was arrested in Florida last month on DUI charges, and Cleveland's Austin Kearns who was pulled over in Kentucky on Feb. 12 on similar charges. All three players have continued to participate in this season's spring training events.
