Phoenix Police Step Up Patrols Over the Holidays

Knowing that the holidays often lead to more drunk drivers, police in Phoenix, Arizona have created a special task force to patrol the roads during the holidays. This task force will provide increased presence on Valley streets during the entire month of December.
Thanks to a recent purchase by the state department, the task force will be helped by six new vehicles. These vans obtain the latest equipment required to fully process DUI cases. One of the newest technologies is a mobile fingerprint process machine that will allow police officers to obtain fingerprints on the spot.
More than 100 police officers will be utilized during checkpoints across the East Valley to cut down on drunk driving. This task force was made possible by funding from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
