Police Believe Alcohol was Involved in Major Wreck
Tragedy struck in Central Phoenix this past week. According to several news sources, a major wreck involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle lead to the death of one man and the arrest of a female driver. Now, police are saying that they have reason to believe that the collision may have been a DUI accident.
Witnesses who saw the crash told police that the driver of the pickup truck, a woman, slammed into the motorcyclist after running a red light. One witness reported that the truck rolled right over the biker and his motorcycle before crashing into a concrete barrier.
Following the incident, the male motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his accident related injuries. Police arrested the 54-year-old female and said that as she walked away from the scene she was very unsteady on her feet. They believe that alcohol was involved.
