Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated DUI
Phoenix news sources are reporting that a man from Mesa, Arizona recently pled guilty to charges of aggravated DUI (driving under the influence). Sadly, when police pulled the man over, they saw that he had seven children in the car with him.
Last week Tuesday, the 23-year-old man appeared in court to answer to his DUI charges and entered a plea of guilty. Prosecutors say they worked out a deal with the defendant where he would plead guilty and they would drop charges of child endangerment in exchange.
The man was placed under arrest on February 21st after officers saw him drive through an accident site that had been blocking the flow of traffic. Once stopped, the man told police he had consumed three beers. They had him take a
breath test which revealed his blood alcohol level was .16%, two times the state's legal limit.
All of the children riding in the man's vehicle were under the age of 15 and police say in the past the man has been convicted of hit and run.
