DUI Suspect Accused of Resisting Arrest
This past Sunday afternoon, local police reported that a man was placed under arrest for driving under the influence in Phoenix, Arizona. However, instead of surrendering to police, the DUI suspect put up a fight and resisted arrest.
Officers say that the male suspect was stopped by police because he was not able to maintain a proper lane, prompting their suspicion that he was intoxicated. The man allegedly stepped out of his vehicle and was issued verbal commands by police, but chose to resist arrest. Even after officers put handcuffs on, the man continued to struggle.
In the report filed by police, it is said that the man had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and also smelled of alcohol. He is now facing charges of resisting arrest and aggravated DUI.
