Senator's Son Turns Himself Into Police
After much consideration, Joshua Trent Pearce, the son of Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce, has turned himself into police.
The 30-year-old had a warrant out for his arrest for violating the probationary terms of his 2006 DUI conviction. As a result, he was booked into the Mesa City Jail and later moved to a Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix. He will have to stay there for six days to satisfy the violation of his probation; however, his probation was then extended until Sept. 21, 2012. However, he could have it revoked at his next hearing.
According to local newspaper The Arizona Republic, the senator's son has had confrontations with local police almost two dozen times over the past ten years. His bail was set at $1,800; he is expected back in court on April 26.
