Mother DUI with 3 Kids in Truck

Police were appalled to find a young mother driving her three children around in her truck while intoxicated this week.

According to the Phoenix police department, Zulema Espinoza came under their radar when she sideswiped another vehicle and then fled the scene. However, the person whose car was hit followed Espinoza home and reported her address to the officers.

All of the children riding in the truck at that time were under the age of five, and were not wearing their seatbelts. Next to the children were several open and empty alcohol containers. Espinoza has since been charged with 3 counts of aggravated DUI, 1 count of failure to stay at an accident scene, 1 count of open container, and 3 counts of violating the child passenger seat restraint law.
