Drunk Driver Indicted after Hitting Susan Krentz
This week, the driver of the vehicle that hit Susan Krentz and her friend, Shirley Gregory, was indicted on eight counts including driving under the influence and aggravated assault. At the time of the accident, the friends were crossing 15th Street and walking toward a parking lot when they were hit by a gray Nissan pickup truck driven by 66-year-old Ramon Parra Saucedo. The accident took place on Saturday, September 25th.
Police from the Cochise County Attorney's Office say that Saucedo has been indicted on two counts each of aggravated assault causing severe injuries, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault causing fractures into charges of DUI. Saucedo allegedly has a prior DUI conviction from 1992. At the time of the crash, his blood alcohol concentration was .114, which is almost twice the state's legal limit.
