Victim Dies during DUI Accident
According to law enforcement officers, they DUI accident took place before the 3:30 PM on the side of the highway, which is just west of Harbison Canyon Road and Flinn Springs. The California Highway Patrol says that one person was trapped in an overturned van. The victim then died at the scene of the accident and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
Officers say that two damaged vehicles and emergency crews blocked two lanes of traffic, forcing drivers to use the right-hand shoulder to avoid the crash scene for a period of time.
The person that survived the accident is believed to have been involved in a hit and run crash just 10 minutes earlier said the CHP. The driver of the vehicle is suspected of DUI and was taken to the hospital for treatment after suffering injuries.
