Officer Charged with Extreme DUI
This week, the Associated Press reported that a Maricopa County Sheriff's detention officer was being held by police on suspicion of negligent homicide involving a car-motorcycle crash in Goodyear, Arizona.
According to local law enforcement, 27-year-old Adrian Salazar Guzman was placed under arrest on Friday and booked into jail. He was held in lieu of $750,000 bail and is facing charges for DUI, extreme DUI and endangerment.
Court records indicate that 27-year-old Alisha Marie Trejo was killed October 16th when her motorcycle was struck from behind while she was paused at a stop sign. Officers say that Guzman informed them he drank alcohol throughout the day and left the last bar just 30 minutes before the DUI accident occurred.
Guzman is employed by the Fourth Avenue Jail in downtown Phoenix.
