In Scottsdale, a woman from Phoenix, Arizona was cited for driving under the influence (DUI). Police say that the woman was driving a Cadillac when she crashed into another car. The crash resulted in both vehicles colliding with objects on the side of the road.
The woman, 34 year old Randi-Lee Brandfass, was reportedly driving eastbound on Shea Boulevard at 10 PM on Monday. The victim, who was driving a Nissan, was also heading east on Shea Boulevard. While traveling east, Brandfass' vehicle swerved into the left lane and hit a traffic sign in the center median. Her car then went off the north side of the road where it came to a sudden halt on top of an enormous boulder.
After being hit, the driver in the Nissan struck a light pole and also a tree. The driver and his female passenger were taken to a nearby hospital and were reported to have suffered non-life threatening injuries. Brandfass was also treated for minor injuries.
