Cardinals Player Arrested for DUI
An NFL player who recently signed with the Arizona Cardinals was arrested in California on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the California Highway Patrol Officer, Linebacker Joey Porter was taken into custody after he refused to provide the officer with his driver's license. The police report says Porter eventually got out of his car, but was in a confrontational manner, and even slapped the officer's hand away when the officer tried to unlock the car door while the window was rolled down. Porter, who police say smelled strongly of alcohol, is also accused of failing to comply with the officer's orders when asked to get on the ground.
In addition to facing DUI charges, Porter has also been accused of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.
